Scrapbooking Newspaper Articles
Sunday July 31, 2005
This week I answer the frequently asked question, "How do I safely include newspaper articles in my scrapbooks?" The high levels of lignin and acid in newsprint cause it to turn yellow and become brittle very quickly. Special steps need to be taken to safely preserve them in your scrapbooks. I’ve been saving pertinent newspaper articles since I got married back in 1977. I want to give this to my grandchildren when it’s time to do so.I love the old black construction paper type scrapbooks with the leather covers. The kind you can tie the strings (for binding) holding new additions as you get more articles and want to add more pages. They would come in at LEAST 11×17 sizes, didn’t they?
Thanks
