Organizing Digital Photos for Scrapbookers

Digital photography has changed the way we scrapbook. We can immediately see if we captured the perfect shot, we can edit the photos on our computers to get them just they way we envisioned them, and we can print them at home any size we want to fit on our scrapbook layouts. The problem with digital photos is that we have SO MANY of them. How do we organize them so that we can find the ones we want when we are ready to scrapbook them? How do we store our CD's of photos in order to be able to find the pictures years from now when we need to print copies?
