Favorite Products: Vanishing Ink Pen

This semi-monthly series of articles will feature a new product that I have discovered I really enjoy. These may be products that are new on the market, or simply are new to me and, I thought, may be to you also. This week's product is the Vanishing Ink Pen by Chatterbox.  Many of you probably already use the great Journaling Genie templates made by this company. This new pen makes them even better. In the past, we had to trace all of our temporary journaling lines lightly with a pencil and go back later to erase them risking smudging not-quite-dry-yet lettering and covering your page with eraser dust.  Those days are gone forever. This pen allows you to do all your journaling on handy straight lines which will simply disappear in 24 to 72 hours. This length of time allows you to finish your journaling the next day if your weary eyes cannot handle anymore writing that night, or find the missing piece of information vital to finishing the journaling on a certain page.  I have tried it myself and on a piece of light pink cardstock it took about 36 hours to disappear. Chatterbox certifies that the ink is photo safe and works on most colors of paper; they do recommend that you test it first.

For best results, the product information recommends:

  • Trace lightly.
  • Expose page to natural light until ink disappears.
  • Test on the colors of paper you work with.
  • Allow up to 72 hours for it to be fully invisible.

Purchasing Information:

You can purchase this product directly from the manufacturer at the Chatterbox web site, at the major online retailers of scrapbook supplies, and at your local scrapbook store.
