End the frustration of trying to get those sticker letters on straight with this simple technique using the waste backing paper from your tape runner.
Difficulty Level: Easy Time Required: 5 minutes
Here's How:
- Decide on a simple title or phrase that you want to spell out with stickers.
- Divide this wording as needed to create single lines of text, i.e. "Christmas" on line one, "1999" on line two.
- Remove a 10-12" piece of the backing paper left over from the use of a Creative Memories tape runner, length needed will vary with the number of letters in your phrase.
- Place the stickers from the first line of your text onto the backing paper spaced exactly as you want them to appear on your page .
- As you place the letters on the backing paper, line each of them up with the bottom edge of the strip, leaving the letters protruding well above the backing paper.
- Center the phrase on your scrapbook page while it is still attached to the backing paper.
- Rub the stickers firmly to adhere the top of each letter to the scrapbook page.
- Carefully peel the backing paper out from underneath the lower half of the letters.
- Rub the rest of each letter so that it is fully secured to the page.
- Repeat these steps with any remaining lines of text.
- If you do not have backing paper from a tape runner you could use the backing from a strip of stickers.
- When using a sticker backing strip, you may want to draw a line with a permanent marker approximately 1/2" from the top edge of the strip to use as a reference for lining up the letters.
- Having a scrapbooking friend to help hold the line of letters
in place while you begin pressing them down can be helpful.
