Book Review: Club Scrap Idea Book 2000
Subtitled
"Exceptional Page Designs For The Sophisticated Scrapbooker" Club
Scrap's first idea book definitely lives up to its billing. This 46 page, spiral
bound book is not only easy to take with you to your next crop, but also packed
full of beautiful page layouts.
The mission of the book is clearly stated in the introduction, "The attainable layouts included here demonstrate Club Scrap's central belief that the beauty of any page design comes from the photographs, and layouts should complement, not distract from that focus." Following this introduction, the reader finds page after page of layouts created with the trademark style of Club Scrap, "tasteful simplicity." From the very first kit that Club Scrap shipped in June of 1999, they have had a clear goal of providing distinctive products to scrapbookers who wanted a "more sophisticated style of design in their albums." The papers included in the kit each month are always full of rich colors and elegant prints and designs, and are complemented by Club Scrap's own line of rubber stamps. To these ingredients scrapbookers have added creativity and thus the Idea Book was born.
Added in among the gorgeous layouts are ideas for using Club Scrap products to create elegant greeting cards. Detailed instructions are included with the card ideas allowing everyone from the seasoned scrapper to the novice stamper the opportunity to construct these gems.
I absolutely love receiving my kit from Club Scrap in the mail each month! This idea book simply adds even more value to an incredible product. However, if you are looking for elegant, sophisticated page layout ideas, for Heritage, Remembrance, Retirement, or other types of albums, you will love this book even if you have yet to receive a Club Scrap kit.
