| Perserving Your Scrapbook Digitally | |

Have you ever thought that you would love to be able to give copies of your entire scrapbook to other family members? Are you working on an heritage album that will be significant to many family members and wish there was a great way to give them all a copy? Until now, scrapbookers have pretty much simply relied on color copies and scanned images printed out on color printers as means of replicating the treasures that we spend hours creating. CD of Memories is a company whose mission is to help its customers "Share the Joy of Your Memories."

I have previewed the demo CD available from CD of Memories and I was very impressed. Although, the help files on the CD were concise and easy to understand, I did not need to read them before viewing the scrapbook because the program is so user-friendly. The scrapbook is set-up on the CD with a lovely background image taken from graphics from the original scrapbook itself. Then, each of the pages appear in order for the reader's perusal. Handy arrows are on the bottom of the screen allowing ease of navigation. A magnifying glass with a "+" on it allows you to zoom in on a page to see detail and read journaling. Pages can also be rotated in case the image on the page has been turned (for example, a large class picture page can be rotated to be viewed with correct orientation).
The best thing about this program is that it can be run on any computer with the basic set of requirements found listed on the CD of Memories website. You can give a copy of the scrapbook to your children's grandmother without her having to learn a new computer program or buy any extra peripherals for her computer.
If you already have a scanner or digital camera, CD of Memories offers discounts for scrapbookers who chose to provide the images electronically. Prices and more information are available on their web site. Be sure to check out the Frequently Asked Questions section of the site to find answers to the questions that have popped into your mind as you have read this article. And, for further information you may contact CD of Memories and they would be thrilled to answer your questions.
