Materials Needed:Several colors of Vellum or
Parchlucent Paper Instructions:First, print out the Diamond Template Shape. Use this shape to trace diamonds onto different shades of vellum paper. Run these diamonds through your Xyron sticker maker machine or apply any of the other adhesives mentioned in the materials list to the back of the vellum diamonds. If trying out the spray adhesive you will want to apply the glue as your last step in this process. Cut each diamond into perfect quarters by cutting them in half and then in half again. Now, you will have a selection of different colored triangles. Assemble the triangles as shown in the sample page above, without removing the backing paper from the Xyron so that you can "dry fit" the pieces. Leave a small space between each triangle letting the black cardstock show through. When you have adjusted all the triangles and have them in place where you want them, affix them to the cardstock and rub each piece down smoothly. Want to try a border around a picture instead?By using just one layer of triangles, fitted into each other by flipping
every other one, you can create this lovely border which will take up less room
on your scrapbook page and surround a picture perfectly. Be sure to dry-fit the
pieces before you adhere them to your cardstock. Depending on the size picture
you have to frame you may need to trim some sections of the pattern to fit. Look for more Vellum ideas in the Link Box above on the right and also in upcoming articles. Want to discuss more uses and techniques for vellum? Come join us on the forum!
