Easter Sticker Art

Just for Easter, here are three brand new page layouts. The first one is elegant with watercolor tulips and beautiful lettering. The second is whimsical with a velveteen bunny looking away from you. And the third is fun covered with Easter stickers and bold egg picture frames. By clicking on the picture to the left you can view it larger to see more detail; while clicking on the title below each picture will bring you to specific instructions for creating the layout.

To create Watercolor Tulips, I used clip art found at Scrapbookscrapbook.com. There you can find loads of great artwork to dress-up your scrapbook pages.  The pages on this site include: holidays, heritage, alphabets, and military graphics. I used Easter2, which included over 20 pages of background paper and graphics. Each set costs only $3.00 to download directly to your computer so you can begin using them today.  Of course, there are some issues involved when using clip art that you print yourself. Is your ink acid-free? Ink jet ink is usually acid-free, however not permanent or waterproof.  If you are lucky enough to be able to print your graphics on a color laser printer, I have been informed by an expert that the ink usually is also acid-free and permanent.  So if you love the versatility that these kind of graphics give you and you have an ink jet printer (like I do), then you will want to use some caution. Here's some advice: 1) Use page protectors, 2) Keep your album out of direct sunlight as much as absolutely possible, 3) Protect your album from water by keeping it away from liquids of any kind.  These are all things that you should be doing anyway and technology is being developed to increase the permanence of ink jet ink. With these words of caution, I encourage you to have a great time with it if you love it.

The Peter Cottontail page can be created using any of the many oval cutters available on the market. In this example, I used the Creative Memories Custom Cutting System. You could do the same thing with the Oval Cropper, the oval Coluzzle Template, the Lighthouse Memories oval cutting blade, or any other you own.  The bunny is made from velveteen paper. If you haven't tried using this kind of paper yet, treat yourself; it's a lot of fun.

The Easter Sticker Art page was made with Mrs. Grossman's stickers. When using stickers, try looking at your stickers as a small part of a much larger picture and let your creative energy flow.
