Paper clip embellishments add color and fun to your layout!Tip: Use Jill's Paper Doll World MatchMakers to create easy color block pages. Just tape two pieces of MatchMakers together on the backside, alternating the papers, so one pattern abuts another pattern or a solid. Since each piece has two different designs (a pattern and a solid, two patterns or two solids) you can create wonderful color blocking with a minimum of effort. Paperclip Embellishments: I loved the punchy color of these plastic coated paperclips and I wanted to use them in a simple, but striking way. Notice that they direct your eye into the page title and the journaling box. Tip: I could have picked up on the Winnie the Pooh design in Renee's clothes, but Grace's bib would have been overwhelmed. The result could have been visually confusing. Instead, I chose to echo the colors in Renee's clothes. By echoing, rather than going for a striking and well-known image, I was able to keep the focus where I wanted - on the girls' relationship. Think before you choose to use paper with an obvious theme or pattern. That theme or pattern might dominate your page. Is that what you want? Page Title: After I printed out the title, I outlined the letters again with a colored pen. Try printing out titles in light gray. You can easily write over them and add luscious color! Putting It All Together: Simple can be perfect. I let the photos of my nieces speak volumes! Products: Paper by Paper Adventures, including Jill's Paper Doll World MatchMakers in Bright Blossom, Two-Tone Archivals in Aquamarine and Banan Split, and Mix'n'Match Classic Archivals in Sugar Solid. Lettering font by Creating Keepsakes.
