Sticker Titles

A great way to add a little pizzazz to your journaling and page titles is incorporating stickers. Most of you probably have a storehouse of stickers. They tend to get somewhat addictive for scrappers. We see some, having no idea where we will ever use them, and have to have them because they "are so cute," "such a great buy," "so versatile," etc. So here is another wonderful use for stickers.

First, find the stickers that match the theme of your page. Now, think about a title for that page and consider which of your stickers "looks" like a letter in the words. For example, in the titles on the idea page, you see that the oo's in football have been replaced by football stickers, the same is true for soccer, and could be used for just about any sports page. The straight lines of the letters in "Happy Birthday" could easily be replaced with candles, the same in "Back to School" have been replaced with school writing utensils, and the round letters in "Cute as a Button" of course become buttons.

Next, as you write the title on the page make sure to make your letters the appropriate size to balance the stickers. Notice in the example, all of the letters in the title "Soccer" are the same size as the ball.

If the letters in the title that you have chosen just don't seem to look like any of the stickers that you have, you have two choices.  Some letters can be replaced by any sticker and the word can still clearly be read using the context of the remaining letters. Or, you can simply decorate the letters as they normally appear with stickers. This can be seen in the example titles "Night Out," "Graduate," and "Splash."

Another great use for stickers in journaling is as bullet points. Small baseball stickers make wonderful bullet journaling dots on a little leaguer's page. Balloons make cute bullet marks on birthday pages. Wouldn't tiny animal stickers make fun bullet points on a zoo or farm page?

As you look through your stickers this week, think about creative ways to incorporate them into your writing.  Then, come join us in the chat room to share those ideas, or just brainstorm, with the rest of us.
