Folding A Paper Rose

Memory Folding for Scrapbookers
by Rebecca Ludens

Printable Version of the Instructions

A wonderful new trend is sweeping the scrapbooking world - paper folding. From the tradition of tea bag folding, comes a technique very similar to origami. You begin with small squares of scrapbook paper which are then folded into beautiful shapes. These simple shapes can be put together to create intricate scrapbook page layouts, frames for photos, or simply beautiful page decorations. This technique allows you to add an interesting three-dimensional look to your scrapbook pages. Classes are being taught all over the country on this topic and books are also available.  In this article, you will find the directions for creating a simple paper rose. This flower can then be adapted to become several different looking buds, added to vines and leaves, woven around a photo on your page, or laced into a paper trellis. I hope that this project will whet your paper folding appetite and cause you to want to continue with this unique art form.
