Around And Around It Goes

A fun way to get more pictures on a page is to create a spinner or wheel scrapbook layout. The idea for the sample page comes from the book The Scrap Happy Guide to Peek & Pull: Add Fun and Surprises to Scrapbook Pages! by Design Originals. The book shows not only how to make spinner pages, but also pull-up and open door pages.  All of these techniques add a fun new dimension to your scrapbook layouts. The book also contains full size patterns for each of the ideas presented. The layout shown here is 8 1/2" x 11" but could easily be adapted to fit any page size. When you purchase the book, you will notice that I have made a few changes to the idea for the sunflower page shown, thereby demonstrating how a little imagination can make idea pages become uniquely yours. Remember that you can click on the sample page to view it in more detail.

To begin, I cut 9 light yellow hearts from cardstock using my Coluzzle cutting system heart template on the smallest available size. This could be done faster with a jumbo heart punch.  I then cut 9 more of the same size hearts from a shade darker cardstock to add dimension to the petals of the sunflower.
