Back To School Scrapbook Pages
You
have the school clothes purchased and folded neatly in the dresser drawers. The
school supplies are lined up inside the stiff, new backpack. The bus schedule is
posted on the fridge. But the most important question of all may be: Do you have
film in your camera?
First day of school pictures mark important milestones in your child's life. And, of course, most importantly, they make really great scrapbook pages! This article shows several examples from my daughter's scrapbook, covering the last three years of her life. At eight years old, she already does most of her pages on her own, including several of the examples you will find here. I noticed as I was putting these pages in the scanner, that she used the same patterned paper and similar techniques on all of the pages, proving that it is indeed memories that make great pages and not elaborate layouts.
On the back of each layout, she left room for the class picture when it came later in the year. What a great place for that picture you never quite know what to do with otherwise. You may recognize the Bus layout below from the Paper Piecing article I did several weeks ago. It fits in so well with this topic, I had to include it again here!
