Olympic Scrapbooking

These pages are mounted on navy 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock, however they could be adjusted to fit any page size. To begin, cut rings using the circle cutting system of your choice. I used the Creative Memories cutter and the medium size circle template. Using this template, I simply used the blue blade to cut the smaller inside circle out first. Then, without moving the template, I used the red blade to cut out the ring.  You need rings of the following colors: blue, yellow, black, green, and red. (These colors were chosen because at least one of them appeared in the flag of every nation participating in the early Olympics.) To entwine the circles you will need to cut an opening in the yellow and green rings. These rings can then be woven into the others by following the picture on the layout above. The titles on these pages were printed from my word processing program.  You can include any information about the Olympics that you desire. Some helpful historical information is that the Olympic motto is "Citius, Altius, Fortius" which translates into "Faster (or Swifter), Higher, Stronger." The Olympic Creed is beautiful and would be a great inspirational quote for other pages also. It reads as follows: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win, but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well."
