| Quick & Easy Paper Piecing | |
The paper piecing in this layout was created with a great new product by Scrap Bits called Basic Bits Stencils. This article details steps in using stencils for paper piecing, embellishing ideas, and mix and match techniques.

Using The Stencils
Stencils can speed up paper
piecing significantly. No more tracing patterns onto sheer paper, or using your
light table to meticulously trace each piece. You basically have two options.
Which you choose depends on what look you want for your piece. You can lay the
template directly onto the right side of your paper and trace the parts with a
dark pen. Then, when you cut the pieces out, stay just outside your line to
create pieces that have all been outlined already. Or, you can lay the template
up side down on the back of your paper and trace lightly with a pencil. When you
cut the pieces out, no lines will be showing and you can embellish them as you
will.
[Products used on the sample layout: Die-cut letters from Little Darlings, card-stock from Creative Memories, and Stencils from Scrap Bits including the Holiday Wear and Boy/Girl stencils.]
