For
the paper piecing classes that Nannette Gutierrez teaches at her local scrapbook
store, she designs original paper piecing patterns. She wanted to share these
free patterns with her friends on the About Scrapbooking Forum so she decided to
share them with all of our readers. This charming pattern is perfect for fun
Fall pages. If you have never tried paper piecing elements for your scrapbook
pages, this is an ideal pattern to use to try out this fun technique. So enjoy
this free pattern as Summer turns to Fall. Be sure to come post on the

Supply List
Frolicking Pumpkins Pattern
(1) Orange cardstock 5 in. x 8
½ in. for the pumpkins
(1) Leaf Green vellum 5 in x 8 ½ in. for the leaves
(1) Tan cardstock scrap for the stem
Black Journaling Pen .05 for stitching/doodling
Red Zig Marker Brush Tip for pumpkin nose
White Gel Pen for center of pumpkin eye
(1) Natural color macramé twine 6 in.
Black chalk
Optional:
2 Jumbo Leaf Punchies (Marvy Uchida Jumbo Maple Leaf Punch)
9 Sm. Maple Leaf punchies (EK Success Paper Shapers Small Maple Leaf Punch)
Scotch Brand Photo Tape (to secure the macramé cord)
Liquid Adhesive ( to attach paper pieces)
Instructions
Step 1: Print a copy of
the pattern. (click here)
Step 2: Cut the pattern pieces from the copy.
Step 3: Apply repostionable adhesive to the pattern pieces and adhere to
the orange cardstock and tan cardstock.
Step 4: Trace your patterns on the cardstock, remove the patterns, and
rub off the repositionable adhesive. Punch the leaves out of green vellum or
trace the leaves on to the green vellum and then cut out the leaves.
Step 5: Prior to cutting the pumpkins and the stem out, draw your stitch
lines as per the pattern illustration. Draw your pumpkin faces and then cut out
all the pieces.
Step 6: Chalk all the pumpkin stitch lines and the stem in black.
Step 7: Pumpkin #3 Bottom - Cut your 2 Jumbo Maple leaves in half and
attach at an angle on the top of this pumpkin.
Step 8: Pumpkin #2 Middle - Attach 5 small Maple leaf punchies to top of
the pumpkin, 4 grouped to the left of the top of the pumpkin one slightly off to
the right. Adhere pumpkin #2 on top of #3.
Step 9: Pumpkin #1 Top Attach 4 small Maple leaf punchies and the stem
to the top of this pumpkin. Adhere #1 to the top of #2. Pumpkin stack is
complete.
Step 10: Macramé Cord drape the macramé cord around the pumpkins and
attach to the back with double sided tape. Twist the macramé cord with your
fingers to curl at the edges. (Hint: Macramé cord has a waxy outer coating that
bends with slight pressure.)
