Graduation Cards

Cards You Can Make With Your Scrapbooking Supplies
by Rebecca Ludens

Many scrapbookers have already gone where rubber stampers have been for years - into the wonderful world of card making. These two graduation cards are simple and elegant and can be made in minutes with supplies you probably already have on hand.

Card 1: This card is designed with a female grad in mind, but with a few changes to the embellishments it could easily be more gender neutral.

Materials Used:

  • Black cardstock card (cut cardstock to 6 1/4" x 11", score, and fold in half to make a 6 1/4" x 5 1/2" card)

  • White cardstock - cut 2 - 5 3/4" x 5" (use one for front of card and one for inside of card)

  • Black die-cut or sticker letters (shown - Sizzix Fun Serif numbers)

  • Club Scraptm Extra! Artist's Tape (could substitute strips of patterned paper or ribbon - but the tape makes it quick and easy while adding a great graphic element of newsprint)

  • Decorative Brads - Making Memories

  • Charmed Plaquetm - Making Memories Mini Bugs

Card 2: The clean lines of this card combined with the funky lettering makes it fun and 3-dimensional.

Materials Used:

  • Dark burgundy cardstock - Club Scraptm - cut to same dimensions as black above

  • Tan textured cardstock - Club Scraptm - cut to same dimensions as white above

  • Black cardstock strips - 2 cut to 1/2" x 5 1/4"

  • Alphabet Charmstm - Making Memories - Flip Overs Classic Font mixed with Flip Overs Ransom Font shown - attached with GlueDots.

  • Graduation Cap - EK Success Jolee's Graduation stickers - double matted with scraps of burgundy and tan

  • 4 antique copper eyelets
