Shauna's Tip: When mixing and matching patterned papers, turn to a Paper Pizazz book. I used Mixing Bright Patterned Papers, which contains families of patterns designed to work together. It means I can scrapbook Ambers 13-year-old energy with a bright combination of fun, funky papers; I can even combine them on one page!
Supplies:
- patterned Paper Pizazz: red sponged, red/green/yellow striped tiles, green stripes with apples, red/yellow apples (Mixing Bright Patterned Papers)
- solid Paper Pizazz: white (Plain Pastels)
- small tags: DMD Paper Reflections®
- 1/8, 3/16 white eyelets
- yellow fiber: Adornments
- 1/8 white ribbon: Offray
- alpha beads: Darice®
- Glue Dots@ International
Instructions:
- Mat photo on white and on red sponged papers. Computer journal, print out, crop and mat on red and white.
- Cover three tags with each of the following: red/yellow apples, striped tiles, green w/apples, trim to fit. Mat on white. Place a white eyelet in the top of each and tie yellow fiber on.
- Trim striped tiles to 5 3/4 x 12. Mat one side on white and trim to 1/8. Adhere over right side of green w/apples paper.
- Cut red sponged to 4 1/2 x 12, mat one long side on white and trim to 1/8. Adhere over the bottom of the layout as shown.
- Add photo and journaling to layout as shown.
- Center tags across the bottom of the red sponged bottom border. Place white eyelets on both sides of the tags as shown. Cut 4 strips of white ribbon, thread through eyelets and string alpha beads on. Adhere ends to back of layout.
- Place white eyelets on either side of the journaling block and repeat step 6.
