Create Fantastic Titles with Templates and Die Cuts |
Looking
for a new way to add interest to your page titles? Try layered lettering. This
simple technique allows your letters to coordinate with the theme of your page.
Your title can become an integral part of the complete layout by following these
easy steps.
Basic Technique
Using a Template:
1) Select the colors of cardstock or patterned paper that will coordinate with your layout.
2) Select a lettering template that fits the theme of the page, and is also easy to cut out.
3) Layer the colored papers to create a striped strip to trace the template letters on to. The layers may be torn or cut. Be sure to firmly affix the layers together, a Xyron machine works well for this purpose. It will be important when you start cutting out the letters that the layers were completely glued together at the beginning.
4) Lightly trace the letters onto the strip balancing the colored areas across the letters as desired. Template in example "Toronto" - EK Success Upper Block

5) Cut out letters and adhere them to a title strip or directly to your layout.
