Decorate Your Home with Your Best Scrapbook Projects |
Have you ever finished a scrapbook page and thought, "That's pretty enough to go on the wall"? With new canvases and basic techniques, you can start making memories, as well as fabulous home decor! Most of the supplies that you will need are already in your scrapbooking stash. Simply by adding canvases and acrylic paints, scrapbooking crosses over into a whole new area of crafting.
Suzy West, of
Canvas Concepts, says to think outside
the box: "Gather up dimensional accents... flowers, trinkets, letter tiles and
wooden plaques... things that are too large for ordinary scrapbooks. Use
decorative papers, rubber stamp images, ribbons and tape as well. Paint the
canvas to suit your color scheme with ordinary acrylic paints."
This is your opportunity to go wild, without the size restrictions and lumpy limitations. Use all your favorite scrapbooking supplies as well as found objects such as sea shells, a piece drift wood buttons, keys or things from the hardware store, fabric or variety store. Look in your jewelry box for mismatched jewelry. Use Mod Podge to seal papers and photographs.
Take your memories out of the album and let them live and be loved in your home decor!

Nature's Gift by Suzy West and Russia by Rebecca Ludens
Suzy combines a bright color palette with silk flowers and miniature fencing to create a gorgeous Spring, outdoor feel double canvas for her walls.
Rebecca started with an Old World feel by using crackle medium when painting her canvas. She added self-adhesive fabrics and decorative brads to make a family memento of an important trip.
