Journaling Reads: "In a
matter of minutes, the stadium was filled with thousands of twinkling candle
lights. The entire track was lined with luminary bags dedicated to a survivor or
victim of cancer. Your father and I were simply unprepared for the flood of
emotion that came over us that night at Relay for Life. We held each other and
grieved; we grieved for your interrupted childhood, the pain you endured, and
even for certain ease of parenting that we took for granted before your
diagnosis. We grieved for Papa and Nana and the hundreds of others that weren't
there that night. Then as quickly as it came over us, it was gone. We are so
deeply grateful that you are ours to love and care for. We saw the word "Hope"
written in light on the bleachers, and then we saw you. As I watched you hold
your candle, protecting the tiny flame from the wind with your dimpled little
hand, I was awestruck once again in the real power of miracles in our lives.

From Rebecca: Jenna sent in two layouts made from the kit and asked me to choose which to publish. I told her that they were both fabulous and asked if I could share both of them with my readers. So here is the second layout made from additional pieces of the same kit:
Journaling Reads: "One of the beautiful things about hope is whenever we have it, life can go on giving us wonderfully normal everydays. Looking back at these pictures of you, just two months into chemotherapy, your cheeks swollen from the steroids, your moods like a rollercoaster, what I remember most is that we were enjoying this crisp September day. It was the first day we could feel Fall in the air, and we went over to Child's to pick some apples. It was so cheerfully normal, I just wanted to soak it all up. Our hope and faith gave us our calm in the midst of the storm; it gave you a chance to discover and to play and to ask questions - just like any other little three year old girl. On this particular day, you really wanted to know how the apples got up in the trees in the first place. Two years later, your chemotherapy almost over, I can say that I hope you always find wonder in these simple everydays. I know I will. I love you Amelia. photos - 9/01 journaling - 7/03
Tips from Jenna: "I really enjoyed working with this kit! The generous selection of tags, journaling boxes, accent squares, and two-sided papers allowed for great flexibility in design and creativity. However, taking liberties with kit pieces is OK too! On one 2-page layout I completed with this kit, I cut up one tag to make two elements - a title and a quote box. On the other, I changed the size of the frame by cutting and pasting two frames together."
