This pattern is a bonus Mother's Day idea! Once again the graphic began as a coloring page on the Cool Clip Art web site, and has been adapted for paper piecing by their computer artists. The best part about the "I Love Mom" bear is that his wording can be changed to reflect any page theme that needs an extra adorable element to finish it off. Consider "I Love Scrapbooking" or "I Love Dad" for a couple of examples.
Once again the pieces have been outlined in black fine tip pen and then chalked to give that touch of completion to the bear. The eyes and nose, although supplied for you on the pattern, can be drawn on with the black pen. A white opaque marker or gel pen has been used to draw a tiny dot in the center of the eyes to make them come alive. The pen work on the heart is in a stitching pattern, which gives the completed piece a "country" look.
After cutting the letters out of red card stock, mat them on black cardstock and cut out again to create the look shown. The whole in the center of the letter "o" can be punched rather than cut out. Here I used the Fiskar's hand-held heart punch to make the letter match the theme of my paper piecing.
