Mixing Patterned Papers Tip 2: Use a Monochromatic Scheme

One simple way to combine patterned papers is to select a monochromatic color scheme. This means focusing on one color and varying shades of that color. Paris chose a dark green with fern leaves background paper for this layout, then layered a piece of light green with fern leaves paper over the right side. Paris also used green papers for her photo and journaling mats and tag. A torn edge and ribbons help the eye flow around the page while adding texture to the layout.
