The first challenge was keeping the ribbon weaving technique as an important focus of the scrapbook page. To do this, I used it as the mat for the quote that Kay had printed directly on one of her photos. In order to keep more of the ribbon visable on page, I trimmed the photo and mat down to a smaller size before matting it on the woven ribbon panel.
Moving the quote helped with the second challenge which was to add a focal point photo that showed that this page is about the daughter's love of fall. Kay was able to send me the main photo on the page digitally, which allowed me to reprint it two times. For the first reprint, I zoomed in and also turned the layout to vertical. This brought the focus to the person in the photo. For the second reprint, I left the photo horizontal and didn't crop it at all so that all of the beautiful scenery shown through. In the "before" image, the focus of the page was equally divided between all four elements on the layout. Now your eye naturally is drawn to the upper left photo of the girl and then travels around the page to the other elements to finish the story.
Finally, I added a little bit of patterned paper to soften up the page and some felt embellishments that complimented the textiles of the ribbon. Both the paper and the embellishments are from Me & My Big Ideas.
