Brag books of yesterday are known for their place in grandmas purse. Today, they are for everyone and better than ever. A brag book in a container protects your photos and embellishments from getting squished in purses, pockets, brief cases or glove boxes.
To begin you will need:
- Pictures
- Container (see ideas below)
- Paper
- Adhesive
- Scissors
- Paint
- Embellishments
- Strong bond tape
Finding a Container
The container can be decorated to suit the theme of the photo inside or the style of the proud owner. The possibilities are endless where containers are concerned. In fact, you probably have the perfect one right there in your home or office. My favorite is an AOL (America On Line) tin that was sent world wide with their trial CD of upgrades. These tins are fast, easy to work with and best of all free. Inside the tin is a coated flyer that is the size and shape of the tin itself. I used that as my template for both the AOL tin and the Large Sizzix die container. Some things not to be over looked are: watchmaker tins, Sizzix die containers, playing card tins, AOLs pressed wood CD mailer, and breath mint tins. Round, square, rectangle, wood, plastic, or tin - you name it! The best way to decide on the right container for your project is to know how many pictures youll have inside. The more you have, the thicker your book will be. In my experience, the AOL tin can hold 13 pictures, while the Sizzix container can hold 20 with small flat embellishments. The finished sample book here only holds 17, as my embellishments were vast and lumpy.
