Look for cardstock or heavy weight printed paper that has a white core. You can see the paper core by tearing it or sanding it. Dark colors of paper with a white core will work best with this technique. Cut the paper into strips that are the same width as the tape that came with your label maker. The one I used for this layout uses 3/8th inch wide strips.
