What I Did:

Shop in the thrift shop and your junk mail.

How I Did It:

I found a lingerie bag at a thrift shop and I use it to organize my punches. The bottom slot has a gusett and is actually thicker than the other pockets, making it a great place to put the bigger punches. For the really big ones, I use clear shoebox type storage. The smaller ones are in the lingerie bag (and sometimes I use a shoebag that hangs in the closet) and are easy to see and reach for at a glance.

Tips and Tricks

  • I get junk mail, like everybody else but before it goes in the recylling, I check out the paper stuff to see if any of it is thicker, textured or has a pretty pattern or picture on it. I take those out and place them into a file folder to use with my Cuttlebug (die-cut machine) to make shapes or fonts for cards. I recently got some travel flyers and they had lots of "watery" paper in a shiny heavy paper. They made great letters for cards. I have also used the paper for tags. A little ditressed ink, a nice acrylic stamp and it was a great addition to a thank-you card.
