My Parents
- My Parents went to Heaven 3 yrs. now. I haven't done a scrapebook yet. I've been cataloging pictures & info. Want to make one for each child, grandchild, & great grand. Using pictures of entire family and of each one child as they interacted with parents. Thinking of taking a class this summer. Would like to give these for Xmas. I have always been keeper of the family info. I do the family reunion books and obituaries. I pray I never get Alzheimer but this will be a great tool for a person that has it. You make a book for them to reference and help them to remember who family and friends are. I figure it would help keep the memory going, it makes the mind work. Thank you for this time and I thank my sister-in-law for sending it to me. God bless.

For my 14-year-old son
- I had my son at the age of 42 and he is my only child. All of his grandparents are gone now and my siblings are older than me. So in 2010, I decided to begin scrapbooking the many photos taken over his early years. I want to explain to him what was going on in the photos and when or where they were taken. My first book is exclusively about him, birth-12 yrs old. I'm starting another book that will be about our family, including his grandparents and other family members he never met. So far, he loves the pages I have completed. I plan to complete many books in the future, including one about myself. I took a few scrapbook classes and card making classes last fall. I love stamping but I haven't included it on my pages yet. Still perfecting my technique. My sister began scrapbooking with me, making books of her kids and grandkids. We've never been to a crop. Maybe this year.

For my Son
- I really began scrapbooking when my youngest son was in middle school, in the gifted program. My first love was rubbberstamping and I would make tons of cards. My son's teacher gave the children a 1st semester project, do a family scrapbook. Then the teacher asked if anyone had a parent who scrapbooks. Guess who raised his hand and volunteered his mum? Yes, my son! So I ran to a local scrapbooking store and begged the owners for help. They were great! They donated supplies to my son's class, gave me free supplies and lessons so I would know about about how to scrapbook. I went to my son's school each week and spent hours helping the 2 classes create their scrapbooks. As I worked with the kids, I got hooked. At Christmas I received the best gift ever, my son's scrapbook. I was amazed at how great it was and it is one of my greatest treasures. That's how I got started scrapbooking.

Didnt realise I had been scrapbooking
- Since childhood I would do a photo album of holidays. They included journaling and cut outs from holiday brochures/magazines to embellish the pages and postcards etc. It wasnt until I was almost 30 that I realised these albums were actually scrapbook albums. I wanted to do a love story book when i got engaged after dating for 11yrs (had lots of stories, cards and photos of our lives together since we were 17yrs old). Searching the web for ideas to make our love story book more interesting i stumbled upon scrapbooking and havent looked back since. I have done many for family as presents and have many of my own albums that im creating.

What got me started
- I lost my 37 year old son several years ago and inherited tons of photos, drawings, report cards, etc. I couldn't bear to throw them away so scanned them all in and began my wonderful, HEALING adventure into scrapping his life.

the Grandchildren
- I started Scrapbooking when I was looking through my daughters pictures when they were little and I could not tell how old they were in the pictures. I got very upset, so for my daughters and grand children I started to scrapbook all of my grand children, For every holiday and event that happened in their lives. So they will all have something to remember. The Daughters can look at the books and tell how old their children are from the journaling and dating of the pages. And also the Grandchildren will have memories of their childhood neatly in scrapbooks and not in boxes with a lot of other pictures with no dates on them.

What I did for love . . .
- The first time I went to a scrapbook class I only had a handful of photos since my family didn't take many pictures. I left the classing wondering what all the fuss was about. Then I met a guy who was a world traveler and photobug--he had thousands of pictures. One of our first dates was going to a Creative Memories class at his cousin's. Given my prior experience, I only went because he wanted to go. We had such fun together making a LO about his 98 year-old grandfather's birthday. I was smitten--with him AND with scrapbooking. I imagined how wonderful it would be to capture such marvelous memories together; we married two years later. We still go to crops together and will be celebrating our 8th anniversary on a scrapbooking tour in Tuscany . . . what's not to love?! :)

A sister's 60th birthday
- It was the year 2001. My sister was turning sixty years in 2003. I had visited scrapbook stores and done a 'grandchild's birth' page in a class. So....I talked to my two other sisters and the three of us completed a wonderful book using the theme of all the homes we and our sister had lived in over the years. We completed it in good time and delivered it in person to her after a long air plane trip. She was so surprised and we were so happy with our accomplishment. We atually had copies made for all of us to keep.

How I got started in scrapbooking
- Our son past away at the age of 31. I had all of his pictures from childhood in a box. I wanted them where I could look at them often, so I made a scrapbook in order from birth until his death. It has been a great comfort to me to be able to just pick up his book and enjoy his time here on earth. Since that first book, I was hooked and have made all my children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren their own scrapbook.

Initially skeptic but now hooked!
- My sister loved to scrapbook but I thought it was way too time consuming. When my older sons were in college, I decided I would make each of them an album for Christmas that would include their birth through high school graduation. I spent over 100 hours putting them together. When my oldest son opened his gift, he was quickly turning the pages. I stopped him and told him I spent way too much time on the book for him to go through it so quickly. When he looked up at me, his eyes were filled with tears. He was overwhelmed with the gift. He keeps the book on his bedside table and has for the last 14 years. I was hooked! I made albums for my two younger children. I have made each of them a wedding album. I have one granddaughter and she loves to see her scrapbook. She and her mother save special things to go in her album. I also do a scrapbook every year that includes all the family celebrations. These albums will be left as an inheritance to my precious children.

starting scrapbooking
- About a year before her wedding my oldest daughter told me she wanted me to make her a scrapbook with pictures to be displayed at the reception. I was to make one about her and her future mother-in-law was to make one about her soon to be husband. Because I didn't know what I was doing I put it off until about 1 mon. before the wedding then when out and bought supplies. When I got home from buying them there was an invitation from my neighbour to a Creative Memories Party. I went and was immediatly hooked. I figuered out what I was doing and did a 90 page album for my daughter in less than 30 days. They still have not got one about her husband. That was almost 12 yrs ago. About 3 yrs. ago I started to make my own cards.
